Service Manager, Short Breaks Respite Service Wakefield (W210)

37 hours per week 

Salary: from £25,599 per annum (dependant on experience, pay review pending)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team based at our Short Breaks respite services in the Wakefield area. Reporting to the Locality Manager (Registered Manager) you will play an active role in the running of our short breaks service.  The service operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week so you will be working 5 days over 7 which will include evenings and weekends on a rotational basis.

What does the role involve?

  • Day to day responsibility for ensuring that services offered are caring, safe, effective, well-led and responsive
  • Ensuring guests progress towards support outcomes through the provision of quality services, and within Avalon policy and procedure frameworks
  • Line management of a team of Support Workers and Advanced Support Workers, managing rotas using our digital systems
  • Ensuring the service is running in compliance with regulating authorities and Avalon quality assurance framework, including completion of audits of finance and medication.
  • Continually improving services offered by Avalon by working positively with our customers and developing good relationships with service commissioners and care managers.

What you need…

  • Demonstrable management experience in social care and in line managing a team.
  • The ability to interpret and apply CQC fundamental standards of quality and safety.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • To be a car driver with use of a vehicle for business purposes.
  • To be able to work flexibly and participate in the out of hours on call service.
