Finance Manager – Head Office (H264)

22 hours per week 

Salary: £40,000 per annum (pro rata for part-time)

About the role

The Finance Manager is responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information on a monthly basis, as well as ensuring year end financial statements are prepared accurately.  You will be experienced in monthly financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.  You will be confident in overseeing all functions of the finance department including payroll, purchase ledger, credit control and VAT, and ideally you will have a working knowledge of using Sage Accounts and Sage Payroll.  You will have line management responsibility for the Finance Team and contribute to their development and learning.

The role is based at our Head Office in Harrogate however we support agile working and there will be opportunities to work from home.

About you

You will be a qualified accountant, with in-depth knowledge of finance and technology. Commercially and digitally astute you will bring experience of engaging with operational teams and budget holders to ensure that we have meaningful financial business partnering in place, embedding sound financial control across the Charity. You will report to the Director of Finance and Corporate Services and be a key member of Avalon’s senior management team, driving Avalon towards sustainable success with innovation and creativity.

Ideally you will have experience and/or knowledge of the social care sector but this is not essential.

Importantly we are looking for someone with a strong commitment to our work, our values and a transparent, accountable and compassionate leadership style.

There is a requirement to travel as you will be supporting our operational teams across all of our localities. You will need access to a vehicle that can be used for work purposes with a full valid driving licence, together with the ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the role.
