I have worked in adult social care for 30 years, starting my journey at 17yrs old as a support worker transitioning people from long stay institutions into homes in their communities. Being on the frontline as a support worker for 10 of those years provided the perfect foundations for me to carve out a successful career in social care.
Over the years I’ve worked for a range of small local providers like SHP who are a London based charity supporting people who are street homeless, to national charities like Community Integrated Care who specialise in supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism, where as Senior Business Development Partner, I was responsible for achieving substantial growth across the Northeast and Yorkshire region.
With my extensive experience delivering support, leading services & teams and developing new specialist provision, I am looking forward to helping shape Avalon’s strategic direction through the design and delivery of our ambitious growth plan, strengthening our charity’s position in an ever-changing social care market.
Outside of work I’m a Mum of 5 kids, 1 dog, 1 cat and 1 hamster. I have a passion for running (having recently competed my first ultra marathon) and I’m a keen sea dipper!
