Avalon West Yorkshire Team’s CQC Result
The team are delighted to share their rating of ‘Good’ for all services
We’re delighted to announce that our West Yorkshire team’s recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission (the independent body which ensures all care providers meet their regulatory obligations) has been completed, and we have been given a result of ‘Good’ across all elements of the inspection.
This is a fantastic result and means that we have been highly rated across the 5 key areas:
- Safe
- Effective
- Caring
- Responsive
- Well-led
We were particularly proud that the inspector gave some written feedback highlighting areas of positivity, which included:
- People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives
- People received kind and compassionate care. Staff protected and respected people’s privacy and dignity
- Staff treated people well and the culture of the service promoted a person-centred approach to care. All relatives said staff were kind, caring and they treated people with respect
- People were supported to express their views and were fully involved in making decisions about their care
- Care plans were person-centred and detailed and provided staff with clear guidance on how to support people in a way which respected their likes and dislikes. Staff demonstrated a good understanding of people’s needs
- People and relatives felt support was provided safely. The providers safeguarding systems protected people from the risk of abuse
Our West Yorkshire Locality Manager, Mallika Chauhan, said, “I’m so proud of the whole team and the fantastic work they do. We’re committed to our customers achieving their best life experience, and this relies on services being safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led, so it’s wonderful that the CQC have found us to be living up to our aim.”
